I am sure many of us can remember a time when there was “computer day.” This was generally one or two days in the week that your entire classroom would travel to the computer lab to learn some computer skills. Most of your computer skills were conducted through educational games, so it was a good day when it was “computer day.” The time went on and there were computer classes during school which taught basic typing and word processing. Eventually it got to a point where each classroom would have at least a couple of computers. The only problem is that while it was nice for the teacher to be able to show her PowerPoint presentations the couple of computers in a classroom of 20-30 students were not all that helpful.
New Computer Education

Thanks to laptops, Smartphones and tablets a student does not even have to pick up a book let alone get to a full size computer. The mobile technology is the wave of the future. The children that are growing up today are so used to having the world at their fingertips that they most likely have no idea on how to look something up in an encyclopedia or find a book in a library catalog. It is time that schools and teachers take advantage of these mobile devices to help educate their students.
Constant communication through mobile devices has become so popular that is has become more common to see someone send a professional e-mail using “text language” than it is to see someone send a grammatically correct text. An entire language has been created to shrink phrases down to fit into a limited amount of character message as well as speed up the process. You is now spelled u, On my way is now OMW, Talk to you later is not ttyl and the list goes on and I am sure there are many more to come.
