Making Mobile Technology Work for Education

Mobile Technology

There are many benefits to these mobile devices that could be quite beneficial to the educational system if they only take advantage of them. Almost all Smartphones and tablets can now be used as readers. This means that while a student freaks out if they lose their phone, the school can help to save money on books by simply purchasing digital copies for the students. The student will not have to lug around a book bag full of books for they will have all of it stored on their handy mobile device.
There have been studies that have proven that a kid scores higher on standardize tests when they have a certain level of access to video games. Many of these strategic games help to teach a child how to thing and react under pressure, not to mention that also help develop the critical and problem solving area of their mind. The best part is that the children do not even realize that they are learning these traits while they are playing.
Most teachers now spend a lot of energy fighting with their students to put away or ignore their mobile devices. Instead of wasting the energy fighting with the students the school should embrace the fact that the children love these devices so much and find a way to make it work to their advantage. Computer technology is crucial to the development of the future, and the more access that children have to technology the better off they will be. The school cannot afford a computer for every child, but they can sure take advantage of the fact that every child now has a mobile device.
